About me
When not saving lives, I like to program and code
I design professional & beautiful websites
I received a job offer from the largest tech company in Canada, but also a medical school acceptance letter one week later. I chose the latter but with a minor computer science degree and solid fundamentals at the start of 1990’s internet era, I have been able to keep abreast in the digital world.
A decade ago my medical group partner hired an IT company to set up electronic medical records (EMR). It gave bad and costly recommendations, and every minor technical glitch became a 2-hour work ticket which I could have solved easily. I realized then the predatory practice of these companies preying on busy medical professionals. I decided to put my non-medical knowledge to good use to help the medical community, in additional to my full-time job as a board-certified neurologist.
What I do
From understanding your requirements, designing a blueprint and delivering the final product, I do everything that falls in between these lines.
Skills
From A to Z
This website was easily created under a day in WordPress, using available add-ons such as Astra template and Gutenberg. The main technical know-how was put in action when “serving” it to the internet. I requested a “cloud compute instance” from a reliable US fortune-500 tech company, specifying CPU, RAM, and disk space requirement. The rest was built from the ground up, including initial installation of operating system and finally web server, all using open-source software. There is no dependency on any third party vendor or intermediary web hosting company.
StrokeMD
I wrote codes in Javascript to program simple medical equations and interactive scales. The end product is a progressive web app (PWA) with features including automatic light/dark theme and automatic Android/iOS user interface. It can be opened on any desktop or mobile browser, or downloaded from the Google Play Store.
